A football tournament to encourage players

An inter-district football championship was organised at Patliputra Sports Complex on Thursday. Altogether 11 teams participated in the tournament. Team Patna won the championship against team Munger in the final round.
The event was organised to encourage the sports enthusiasts of Bihar. Sonu Ansari, a football player, said, “In the past few years, such championships are organised on a frequent basis to boost the players.This has also enhanced our game skills and we feel more confident when we are selected to play at the National level.”
Sharing similar views, Aayush Raj, another football player, said, “My parents and I felt very proud when I was selected for this championship. Right from my childhood, I liked participating in football matches but my parents just wanted me to focus on my studies. After much requests, my father finally allowed to start my proper training when I was of 16-years. Now they want me to put more efforts in football so that I may get a chance to perform on a bigger platform.”
